Classification Standards
Multilayer parquet refers to an European law acknowledged in Italy that determines the technical specifications and selections. The law is UNI EN 13489 pre-finished multilayer parquet.
The law defines 3 selections called “classes”, which differentiate according to the wood species and are among them different for natural characteristics and chromatic principles. Furthermore the peculiarity of high durability and resistance of pre-finished parquet remains unchanged. The law provides and specifies precise limits for every class, there is, though, the possibility for a producer to use also free classes with obligation to determine and emphasize the tolerance established.

Our Selections

Listoncino, Listoncino Maxi, Listone 3 Strips:
Cosmo proposes in function, of the characteristics of the wood species of the product, three selections (Luxury, Comfort and Energy) of equal constructive quality but different in the chromatic results, marked with names that refer to the class aspects as provided for by the law.

LUXURY: first selection straight and flamed.
Uniform aspect selection, with a an elegant classic taste that presents a mixture of, more or less, straight fibres and large and flamed fibre that consents a pleasant game of colours that avoid a forced homogenization of tones. It is the right choice for those who desire a refined naturalness.
Fibre straight, oblique or flat, the presence of knots, sapwood and evident colour changes are excluded.

COMFORT: commercial selection.
Selection that thanks to its particular combination and to the array of different fibres offers the possibility to make a comfortable flooring that adapts to rustic furnishing with style.
Flamed and not regular fibre;presence of sapwood, heart, small sound knots with a diameter smaller than 8mm and with plastered knots smaller than 2mm; Colouring typical of its species with variation of colours.

ENERGY: commercial selection.
This selection exalts the more rustic and authentic aesthetics of wood creating a homely atmosphere, it is characterised by a mixed grain with the presence of knots in the respect of the law and in function of the natural characteristics of the wood species. The prevalence of flamed grain that evidences at its most the fibre and natural chromatic contrasts of wood.
Straight oblique and flat fibre, distortion of fibre, presence of sapwood, heart, sound knots with a diameter of <10 mm. and putty knots with a diameter of <3mm; Colouring typical of its species with variation of colours.

Listone Plancia Unica, Quattordici, Dieci, Mikra
In connection with the features of the wood species,Cosmo proposes for these formats 2 selections (Elegance and Atmosphere) of equal constructive quality that characterises the parquet from an aesthetic point of view exalting the distinguishing beauty and richness. The two selections, as foreseen by the norm UNI EN 13489, are to be considered free classes.

ELEGANCE
Uniform aspect selection, with a classic and elegant taste that presents a mixture of straight fibre, more or less thick and large and flamed fibre consenting a pleasant game of colours that avoid a forced homogenization of tones. It is the right choice for those who desire a refined naturalness.
Straight, oblique or flat fibre, the presence of knots, sapwood and evident colour changes are excluded.

ATMOSPHÈRE
This selection exalts the more rustic and authentic aesthetics of wood creating a homely atmosphere, it is characterised by a mixed grain with the presence of knots in the respect of the law and in function of the natural characteristics of the wood species. The prevalence of flamed grain that evidences at its most the fibre and natural chromatic contrasts of wood.
Straight oblique and flat fibre, distortion of fibre, presence of sapwood, heart, sound knots and plastered knots smaller than 3mm. Colouring typical of its species with variation of colours.
